Thieves Steal Car, Owner Hunts Them Down, Steals it Back, Films Arrests

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – A woman in Missouri turned into an amateur investigator after her car was stolen. She tracked down the thieves and stole her own vehicle back.

Danielle Reno’s Toyota 4Runner was left unattended at a gas station.

Danielle Reno told Kansas City’s KCTV that, “I got out of the car for two seconds and grabbed my daughter, turned around, and my car was gone.”

” ‘Did I park somewhere else? No. I know I parked here.’ And then I’m like, ‘Somebody stole my car.’ It was all downhill from there.”

The thieves also made off with Reno’s smartphone, credit cards, some money, her daughter’s laptop, and reportedly her passport.

Reno soon filed a police report for her stolen possessions. Then the woman took matters into her own hands as she began tracking fraudulent credit and debit card purchases, and her smartphone’s activity.

“We stalked this lady literally for 48 hours. She had no idea what we were doing,” Reno said.

According to Reno, a gas station attendant told her the car thief Reno nicknamed to as “Taco Bell” said the thief was going to Applebee’s. Reno soon gave chase and found the female thief, then she stole back her own car.

Reno uploaded videos on Facebook of her hunting down the thieves.

“Oh my God, before I call the cops I wanted to show you all what we just found, by doing our own stalking. At Applebees, and my heart’s racing,” Reno said in the now-viral videos.

“I got this b—hes’ beer in my car and she’s short, I had to scoot the seat back. I got her cigarettes and whatever kind of drug pipe that is and I’m about to pull over in a mile down the street and call the cops. But I think I got everything, and she is about to get her ass arrested!”

Police arrived shortly afterward and arrested the thieving suspects, including “Taco Bell” and two others. The thieves still had Reno’s possessions, credit cards included.

Reno was able to catch the thieves being arrested on video. One of the thieves had a warrant out for a rape charge.

“It would give me great glory to bash her face in right now,” Reno said in the video. “But I won’t do that because it’s against the law and I don’t wanna go to jail.”

Unfortunately, the thieves trashed Reno’s vehicle to the point that she didn’t want to drive the car ever again.

“Look at my back seat,” Reno said to KCTV. “Beer in my back seat. There’s stuff on the car seat. There’s stuff on the seat. It’s just gross.”
