Heely got arrested during November 16th by deputies belonging to the Santa Clarita police station station of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. Booking records are indicating that he was later released on $150,000 bail.
Robert Helfend, his attorney, says Heely “vehemently denies these allegations.”
Heely, who watches over the music licensing for Disney films, pleaded not guilty on Thursday. If convicted, he will face up to nine years and three months in prison reports The Daily News.
Oddly enough, the “House of Mouse” waited until just yesterday to suspend this alleged pedophile. A spokesperson claims the company had only just began learning of Heely’s arrest:
“Immediately upon learning of this situation tonight, he has been suspended without pay until the matter is resolved by the courts.”
Robert Helfend, Heely’s attorney, denies these charges: “He vehemently denies these allegations and we will be fighting until the end to clear his name,” Helfend stated. “It’s a shame, that’s all I’ve got to say.”
Heely has been employed by Disney since 1981. He watches over licensing of the company’s massive catalog of music in films. He has also produced a series of Disney concerts all around the globe, including “Fantasia Live in Concert,” which features film clips and orchestral performances.
The punchline – Heely’s Twitter bio displays, “Disney Concerts and living to glorify God in all things.”
