(The AEGIS Alliance) – Dr. Bradford Ferrick, a Massachusetts resident doctor, was taken into custody by the federal authorities on charges of possessing thousands of child pornographic images and videos. These included recordings of young patients he had treated, which were taken with a bracelet.
The US District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts reported that a search of Ferrick’s Winchester home resulted in the seizure of 61 devices, including computers, cell phones, hidden camera systems, and SD cards, that contained thousands of images and videos of child pornography.
In another search of the same home, state investigators discovered 11 more devices containing child porn of victims aged between six and 11. During a third search of a home Ferrick was renting in Amherst, eight more devices were found, including multiple hidden camera devices and USB storage devices.
One of the hidden cameras, designed as a bracelet, contained two recorded videos of Ferrick giving medical exams to two minors. The minors seemed to be unaware they were being recorded.
“I can think of no greater fear as a parent or guardian than potential harm coming to your child. Today we allege that this doctor, who held a position of trust with access to children, maintained child sexual abuse material,” stated US Attorney Rachael Rollins while noting there is an ongoing investigation.
Ferrick was charged with a single federal count of child pornography possession and is facing upwards of 20 years in prison if found guilty.
Bradford Ferrick was on administrative leave with no pay from the Baystate Franklin Medical Center since the middle of February, according to what a medical center spokeswoman told the Boston Globe.
“We are cooperating with law enforcement authorities as they proceed with their investigation,” spokeswoman Chalonda James indicated.
