FORT MITCHELL, KENTUCKY – A man from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky was handed down a 10-year prison sentence on Tuesday following an investigation that discovered both child pornography and selfies of the man on his Tumblr social media account.

The Kenton County Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force had arrested 44-year-old Kristopher Eric Crawford back in May, Cincinnati.com reported. Court records reveal that in July, Mr Crawford was indicted on 38 counts of distributing and possessing child pornography. My Crawford gave a guilty plea in court to four of those counts back in September.

Detective Brian Jones with the Kenton County Police Department had launched an investigation in the online activity of Mr Crawford following a cyber tip made by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which indicated the man’s Tumblr account was used as a way to share child pornography on social media.

Detective Jones found over 60 videos and 200 images of child pornography on Mr Crawford’s Tumblr account during the investigation. There were also images of Crawford’s “selfies” on the social media account which were mixed in with content related to child pornography, according to the release.
