Texas police pursue, fatally shoot man who had admitted to sex with 13-year-old girl

(The AEGIS Alliance) – Following a brief pursuit, police fatally shot a man from Texas who had confessed to engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl.

According to a report from KHOU, the Hitchcock Police Department had been investigating 54-year-old George Alejandro since February 16 for reportedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Law enforcement officials were preparing to serve him with a warrant last week when Alejandro fled from the scene in a large vehicle similar to an 18-wheeler. After pulling into a parking lot, he allegedly pointed a firearm at officers, who responded by using lethal force and fatally shooting him.

According to investigators, George Alejandro had admitted to believing that he was involved in an online romantic relationship with the 13-year-old girl. In a police interview, he allegedly revealed that he had arranged to meet her near her school and then took her to a hotel, where they engaged in sexual activity.

Upon concluding their investigation, law enforcement officials charged George Alejandro with sexual assault of a child, which is classified as a first-degree felony. With a warrant for his arrest in hand, officers located Alejandro in southeast Houston and attempted to stop his vehicle. Alejandro fled the scene, leading officers on a brief chase that ended in a local business parking lot.

Upon exiting his vehicle in the parking lot, George Alejandro brandished a firearm and raised it at the officers. In response, two Hitchcock police officers fired an unknown number of shots at Alejandro.

After the shooting, personnel from the Houston Fire Department arrived at the scene and attempted to provide emergency medical assistance to George Alejandro. They then transported him to Memorial Hermann Hospital for further treatment. Despite their efforts, Alejandro ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital.

None of the officers involved in the incident sustained any injuries.

Following the incident, the Houston Police Department and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office have taken over the investigation into the shooting of George Alejandro.
