11-year-old Texas girl sexually assaulted and strangled to death in her home while dad was at work
Officials in law enforcement are presently engaged in an investigation concerning a murder and are actively searching for a suspect after the unfortunate demise of an 11-year-old girl over the weekend while her father was away due to work obligations.
During a media briefing, Josh Bruegger, the police chief of Pasadena, Texas, stated that officers were summoned to a residential complex on Main Street at 3:07 p.m. on Saturday, August 12th, following a report regarding an unresponsive young female. Medical professionals reached the location and declared the 11-year-old girl was dead.
Detectives from the Pasadena Police initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the demise of the young girl. Upon scrutinizing the autopsy report, it was discovered that she had succumbed to strangulation and was subjected to sexual abuse. The conclusion drawn from this information was that her death was classified as a homicide.
The girl was identified by KHOU-TV as Maria Gonzalez.
Bruegger stated that Gonzalez and her father hailed from Guatemala and shared an apartment. However, additional family members resided in the adjacent building. At approximately 9 a.m., her father departed for work, while Gonzalez maintained communication through text and voice messages. Roughly one hour later, Gonzalez messaged her father, informing him of a visitor at their doorstep.
The two’s communications stopped after that happened.
According to reports, the father apparently requested the girl’s aunt and uncle, who also resided in the same building, to go investigate her whereabouts. They performed a quick examination but were unable to find her.
At around 3 p.m., her father finally arrived back home and stumbled upon his daughter’s lifeless body hidden beneath a bed. KHOU reported that she had been wrapped inside a sheet and concealed within a laundry basket.
At present, Gonzalez’s father is not viewed as a suspect because Bruegger confirmed that his alibi is valid.
Investigators are meticulously examining the evidence and persistently pursuing a perpetrator.
