Pennsylvania man convicted on more than 20 counts of child sexual abuse

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A man from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday of over 20 counts of child sexual abuse. This included rape, sexual intercourse, and other related offenses.

34-year-old Anthony Beckem Jr. was convicted of multiple crimes, such as rape with force, sexual abuse of a child, and involuntary sexual contact. He was also convicted of assault, strangulation, incest, corrupting minors, and endangering the welfare of children, ABC 27 WHTM reported.

According to the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, police received a tip about Beckem’s sexual abuse of multiple children. An investigation was conducted, and it was revealed that he had abused three minors over a period of nearly a decade.

The district attorney’s office expressed their satisfaction with the verdict and thanked the Hampden Township Police Department and senior assistant district attorney Lauren Perchinski for their hard work on the case.

Following the trial, Judge Christylee L. Peck set Beckem’s bail at $1 million. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 2 at 9:30 a.m.
