Accountant sues Disney, says company manipulated billions in its finance books, fired her for reporting it

(The AEGIS Alliance) – She made it look like the whole thing was a Mickey Mouse operation.

A former Disney accountant is suing the corporation with claims the home of Mickey Mouse manipulated its finances after which fired her for blowing the whistle and reporting it.

Sandra Kuba, a former top financial analyst at Disney, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, according to the Orlando Sentinel. She has requested an unspecified amount in damages.

In the lawsuit, Kuba says she found billions of dollars in phony income while working for Disney Financial Services. Kuba stated she reported it to her bosses, but they did nothing about it.

The lawsuit says she responded in 2017 by going all the way to Walt Disney World Resort President George Kalogridis together with her grievance. Kuba says the corporation responded by making threats against her.

In 2017, Kuba filed a whistleblower complaint with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. That grievance was publicly revealed in 2019, and Disney called it “utterly baseless.”

Disney responded the same way to Tuesday’s lawsuit and vowed to fight the lawsuit and said it was “meritless.”

Kuba, who filed the complaint while on medical leave, stated she was fired soon after she returned to work. She mentioned the corporation fired her in retaliation for the SEC complaint.

Disney was additionally accused of accounting chicanery by Bill Nye “The Science Guy” in 2017. Nye sued Disney and mentioned he was owed millions of dollars for work on his show. According to Pasadena Now, the legal proceedings are ongoing, with a prolonged pretrial hearing ending earlier this month.
