Oklahoma Special-ed teacher charged with rape for allegedly having sex with student

(The AEGIS Alliance) – In Oklahoma, a former special education teacher is facing rape charges and is accused of having sexual relations with a 16-year-old student.

Andee Lantz is the teacher. She is 26 years old and was arrested on December 18, 2020. She told police she had sex with the teen boy two or three times, KWTV-DT reported on court documents it obtained.

The student who attends the Carnegie Public Schools was questioned by police. The sexual acts got the attention of the authorities when a naked picture of Lantz was being circulated.
Lantz confessed to having sex with the student. She said their first encounter was after a homecoming game. She was driving around with the student and they kissed. She said it escalated from there.

When asked about the naked picture by the school superintendent Lantz denied any claims about inappropriate actions with the student.

Police said that at least one sexual encounter happened at Lantz’s home. The age for consent in Oklahoma is 16 but it is illegal for a student and a teacher to engage in sexual acts no matter their ages.

Lantz resigned from her teaching position in mid-November. She is out on a $15,000 bond and is being charged with second-degree rape. The date for her court hearing is scheduled for March 12, 2021.
