Southern California Elementary School Teacher Arrested for Distributing Child Porn
(The AEGIS Alliance) – SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – A man who works as a 5th-grade teacher for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District was arrested by sheriff’s investigators on Wednesday last week for being suspected of sharing child pornography, according to KTLA and officials.
43-year-old Steven Victor Pilar was jailed for being suspected of distributing child pornography after being arrested at around 10:30 a.m. at his home in Victorville, county booking records show.
Detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department who are with the Hi-Tech Division and Crimes Against Children Detail were investigating leads and discovered that illicit images of children were being distributed from Mr. Pilar’s home. A warrant was issued and authorities showed up at the home, then they interviewed Pilar.
“At the end of the interview with Pilar, he was arrested for distribution of over a thousand images and videos of child pornography,” a statement reads.
Officials say Steven Victor Pilar was employed by the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and that he was working as a 5th-grade teacher. Interim Superintendent Anni Bui made a written statement that showed Mr. Pilar was teaching at Baldwin Academy in La Puente. She said officials at the school first learned about the arrest last week on Thursday.
