Florida Woman Accused of Zipping Boyfriend Inside Suitcase, Leaving Him to Die

(The AEGIS Alliance) – ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA On Tuesday a Florida Woman was arrested following her boyfriend being discovered dead inside a suitcase that was zipped closed.

42-year-old Sarah Boone made the claim that her boyfriend’s death was because of a game of hide-and-seek that went terribly wrong. However, authorities made the decision to place her under arrest after they found a couple disturbing videos on her phone that displayed Boone taunting her boyfriend Jorge Torres Jr while he was struggling to break free from the luggage case, according to INSIDER.

Detective Chelsey Connolly issued an arrest affidavit that the Orlando Sentinel reviewed, which reveals that Boone stated she spent Sunday evening with her boyfriend and shared a bottle of Chardonnay while they worked on puzzled and painted. Boone said they began playing hide-and-seek later that night and at some point, they had the idea it’d be funny if Boone zipped Torres inside their blue-colored suitcase, INSIDER reported.

Initially, Boone told authorities that she had the suitcase zipper partially unzipped so that Torres was able to get two of his fingers through to open it. Boone claimed she called it a night and to sleep in their bed, and figured Torres escaped the suitcase on his own then went to bed with her later.

According to police, Boone said she was awoken by several cries for help but ignored them because she thought they were coming from her ex-husband. Boone eventually woke up at about 11 a.m. and figured Torrest was searching for a job downstairs, INSIDER wrote.

Boone finally decided to go downstairs and couldn’t find Torres, then she came to the realization that he might’ve been in the suitcase, and that ended up being true.

Boone then unzipped the suitcase, but by that time Torres wasn’t breathing and was unresponsive, according to the affidavit.

Boone didn’t immediately contact authorities but called her ex to come over instead. Her ex arrived and told her to call 911. Paramedics pronounced Torres as dead at about 1 p.m.

The affidavit reveals that Torres had lengthy fingernail scratches on his neck and upper back, bruised shoulders, a busted lip, injuries to his forehead and skull that appeared to be from blunt force trauma. The affidavit didn’t confirm the exact cause of death.

The affidavit said Sarah Boone consented to police searching her phone, and they discovered a couple of videos that showed a struggling Torres trying to escape from the suitcase.

The first video shows Torres yelling for Boone and attempting to escape the suitcase as she was laughing.

“Yeah, that’s what you do when you choke me. You should probably shut the F*** up. That’s on you. Oh, that’s what I feel like when you cheat on me,” Boone said in the video.

“I can’t F****** breathe, seriously,” Torres is heard saying.

In the second video, Torres struggles to escape from the suitcase while in a different position and is crying out for help.

Boone had a second interview with investigators and was shown the videos, she was unable to watch one of them halfway through, according to the affidavit obtained by INSIDER.

Sarah Boone told police she had no memory of recording those videos and admitted they “looked bad,” the affidavit says.

Boone wouldn’t give a reason why she decided to go to bed instead of freeing Torres from the suitcase first. Boone then changed her story and contradicted her initial statement that she wasn’t under the influence of alcohol and “started blaming that she was intoxicated from alcohol,” the affidavit says according to INSIDER.

Sarah Boone is currently locked up at the Orange County Jail with no bond. Boone is facing possible life in prison if she’s convicted.
