California Man Charged with Seeking, Distributing Child Porn, Described Molesting Girl
(The AEGIS Alliance) – OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA – A man from Walnut Creek is facing charges in federal court after being arrested for distributing child porn. The male suspect was caught sharing videos depicting prepubescent children being raped and molested, according to authorities and MercuryNews.com.
The suspect’s name is Jeffrey Roger Phillips, federal prosecutors said. Phillips was using the Kik messenger app in January and entered a chatroom, then he asked, “Anyone have any young ones lol.” Authorities took notice that it was a way of him asking for child pornography. What Phillips thought were contacts who were child molesters, with one claiming to have molested an age 11 girl, were actually undercover FBI agents, MercuryNews.com reports.
There were ongoing conversations between Phillips and the undercover, with Phillips sharing videos of child porn. Phillips later talked in detail about how he had molested a young juvenile girl he was babysitting while they were in a hot tub together. The criminal complaint states that Phillips told the story to both agents, MercuryNews.com reported.
“Went hot-tubbing… and we were playing dare,” Phillips wrote to the agents, then began describing his sex act against the girl, according to the criminal complaint and MercuryNews.com. “She was loving it,” Phillips mentioned.
The second undercover agent posed as a nanny, and in a conversation, Phillips said, “I like being anonymous so I can get some naughty stuff.” Then he showed the agent a video of a young girl who referred to the cameraman as “master,” following by the person with the camera molesting the girl, according to MercuryNews.com.
Phillips also shared a video with the second agent that depicts a woman molesting a boy who looks to be 6 years old, according to authorities. The woman has been unidentified.
Phillips was told by the second undercover agent that she was a nanny for a 9-year-old girl and asked Phillips he wanted to make any “special requests.” Phillips proceeded to ask the agent if she would record a video of her molesting the girl, and gave a graphic detailed description of what he wanted, MercuryNews.com wrote.
While these conversations were happening, the second agent was on the phone talking with Phillips and initiated a video chat, which allowed the FBI to capture recordings of the suspect’s face. Authorities were able to identify Phillips by associating the information with his Snapchat account, MercuryNews.com reports authorities as saying.
Phillips is due to be arraigned on Thursday along with a detention hearing. Court records show that Jeffrey Roger Phillips is currently being held in federal custody.
