Oklahoma Teacher Arrested for Having Threesome with Student, Former Female Teacher

TULSA, OKLAHOMA – A high school teacher was arrested for the alleged crime of having a threesome with a student and a former female teacher from the district inside her home.

Joyce Churchwell is employed at the Berryhill High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a volleyball coach. Churchwell was in contact with the teen on Snapchat and gave him an invitation to visit her home this last school year, according to the local sheriff’s office and a report by News on 6.

A Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman named Casey Roebuck told News on 6 that, “The student admitted that this encounter had taken place at the teacher’s home along with another adult female who is a former teacher at the district.”

Authorities issued a warrant for Churchwell’s arrest and shortly afterwards she turned herself in on Tuesday. Churchwell is facing a rape charge.

Authorities say there may be additional victims. During the investigation, it was discovered that Churchwell had been messaging with another student who refused to comply with her.

In a statement, Berryhill High School said Joyce Churchwell was placed on a leave of absence.

“The Berryhill School District takes the safety of its students very seriously and does everything it can to provide a safe learning environment,” the school mentioned.

And concluded with saying, “The district is currently cooperating with law enforcement in the investigation of these allegations and will take appropriate action when the investigation is completed.”
