Prison for Pennsylvania Man who Raped Teen, Forced Her to Drink Alcohol

LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA – A man who pleaded guilty to raping a teenage girl and forcing her to drink alcohol has been sentenced to five years in prison.

24-year-old Budha Gurung gave a guilty plea in court to sexual assault, rape, and other charges for an incident that happened earlier this year on March 10, FOX 43 reported at the time of the incident.

As part of the plea agreement, Mr. Gurung was sentenced to five to ten years in prison by Lancaster County President Judge Dennis Reinaker, according to FOX 43. It is unclear if Mr. Gurung will serve the full ten years in prison or only five years that have been reported by FOX 43.

Mr. Gurung is an acquaintance of the teen girl victim’s family, who was supposed to drive her home, Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick said. But instead of driving the victim home, Mr. Gurung bought a Four Loko alcoholic beverage and forced the girl to drink it, then sexually assaulted her while he was drunk at his North Queen Street home.

FOX 43 reports that Mr. Gurung is a green card holder, and there are potential consequences he faces in regard to his immigration status from Nepal.

In related news that also recently happened in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania according to LancasterOnline.com, 33-year-old Christopher Feliciano will serve “up to 15 years in prison” following his pleading guilty to raping a nine-year-old child, he was sentenced on November 21. However, it is unclear how much of the “up to 15 years” of prison time Mr. Feliciano will end up serving.

It is my personal opinion that these two men got off the light when compared to others who’ve been convicted of related serious crimes against juveniles, children, or minors.
