Officer Impersonator Pulls Over Real Cop on Accident
UPLAND, CALIFORNIA – On Thursday, a video was released showing a traffic stop that police are saying is a fake cop who tried pulling over a real cop in Upland, California.
The video shows lights from a man’s Jeep Wrangler who is accused of impersonating a police officer.
According to authorities, Imroj Singh, age 23, flipped on his Jeep’s red and blue lights while he unknowingly tried to stop a detective who was driving an unmarked car near Baseline Street on the 210 Freeway.
The detective of Rancho Cucamonga came to the realization that the man was not actually a police officer. The detective then flipped on his real sirens and lights.
The man in the Jeep Wrangler attempted to flee the scene but he eventually stopped and the driver exited the vehicle.
According to police, they say Singh purchased the police lights online and got them installed onto his Jeep vehicle’s front grill to make it appear as though it was an actual undercover vehicle used by law enforcement.
Imroj Singh was then arrested and faced a misdemeanor charge for the impersonation of a peace officer. His arraignment is scheduled for August 5.
It is believed by detectives that Imroj Singh may have previously tried to use the police lights to pull over other citizens.
