Married Texas police chief resigns after phony annulment document arrest, living triple life

(The AEGIS Alliance) – A Texas police chief accused of cheating on his spouse with a minimum of two other women resigned after he was arrested for showing one of the other ladies a fake marriage annulment.

The town of Stinnett posted that Chief Jason Collier’s resignation was “effective immediately,” in a Thursday press release posted on its city Facebook page. The married father-of-four was arrested earlier that day on one charge of government document tampering with intent to defraud, KAMR reported that Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Cindy Barkley said.

“Collier allegedly sent a text message to the victim with a fraudulent government record attached,” Barkley stated. “The document was a fraudulent marriage annulment.”

On Tuesday, the Hutchinson County District Attorney’s Office requested the Texas Rangers look into the age 41 now-former chief after a Facebook post made by Cecily Steinmetz alleged he was living a double and even triple life.

“I was his girlfriend until yesterday. He lied to me and presented me with fake annulment documents when I found out he was married,” her post reads. “I also found out about a 2nd girlfriend, Kristi, last night. He has lied to us, our children, and asked us both to marry him.”

Steinmetz, who lives in Amarillo, additionally claimed that Collier would usually visit her while he was on duty.

“We just returned from a vacation in Taos on Sunday. Meanwhile, his other girlfriend was told he was on a work assignment in Portland, Oregon,” she concluded.

Steinmetz’s post rapidly went viral, prompting the town authorities to place Collier on administrative leave while the City of Stinnett carried out an investigation of potential violations of city employment policies. Officers often still collect a paycheck while on leave and may be seen as a paid vacation for such violating officers.

As of Saturday, he was still in jail under a $10,000 bond.
