(The AEGIS Alliance) – ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CALIFORNIA – Investigators are searching for a passenger and the driver who smashed a car into a Rowland Heights, California home leaving the vehicle embedded into the side of the house this past early Saturday morning, according to an initial report by KTLA 5.
Sgt. J Kawanaka with the California Highway Patrol’s Santa Fe-Springs office noted the car crash incident happened at around 4:40 a.m. on Blakeman Avenue’s 2000 block.
Kawanaka wrote in a statement that, “The male driver of a (2003) Toyota Camry traveling north on Blakeman Avenue, south of Pen Street, drove off the roadway, become airborne and collided into a residence.”
“Family members were inside the residence at the time of the collision but no one was injured.”
The two male suspects have only been described as being men. They were captured on Tina Lebron’s home surveillance camera with an unclear view of the men, seen fleeing from the crash scene shortly after the car’s impact, KTLA 5 reported.
“My mother in law and I were asleep. My husband left for work 14 minutes before,” Lebron said on social media.
The two young adults or teenagers appear to be doing “donut” spins on the street before the driver loses control of the vehicle. SGV Tribune wrote that the vehicle was stolen.
“Let me tell you, it was the scariest thing. The noise!!!!. My family and dogs are shaken up but ok,” Lebron wrote.
The owner of the Toyota Camry was unaware her car had been stolen out of her driveway until CHP contacted her, SGV Tribune reports.
“The home is being evaluated to see if the structure is livable or will be red-tagged,” CHP spokesman Officer Marcos Iniguez said according to SGV Tribune.
