Upstate New York man charged with allegedly raping and killing 3-year-old girl

A man, 33 years old, was charged by a grand jury following the death of a 3-year-old girl last month, with indications of probable sexual assault.

At around 7:20 a.m. on July 7, emergency services in Rensselaer City swiftly reacted to a report regarding a young lady who was not showing any signs of response at 1552 Broadway. Upon arrival, the medical team engaged in life-saving procedures and promptly took her to a hospital in the vicinity. Unfortunately, despite receiving further medical care, she was declared dead.

According to reports, Robert Fisher II, the individual in question, allegedly tried to gain access to the premises and impede the activities of law enforcement officials. Consequently, he was apprehended on accusations of hampering government administration, resisting arrest, and engaging in destructive behavior. Following being interrogated by investigators from the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit, he was later accused of severe sexual misconduct, assault, and endangering a minor.

Robert Fisher II was arrested and detained without bail at the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility.

The connection between Fisher and the child was not initially evident, however, law enforcement mentioned that the child’s parents are actively assisting with the investigation.

In a recently released news update, the police department of Rensselaer City disclosed that Fisher has been indicted by a grand jury for the crimes of second-degree murder and first-degree rape. Fisher’s arraignment has been set for August 2nd.
