A Hacker Ransomware Locked a Man’s Penis into his Internet-Connected Chastity Belt Cage

(The AEGIS Alliance) – Sam Summers was sitting down at his house along with his penis caged inside an internet-connected chastity belt when he received a bizarre message on the app that connects to the gadget. Someone informed him that they had taken control and so they demanded about $1,000 worth of Bitcoin to provide Summers control again, Vice Motherboard reported.

“Initially, I thought it was my partner doing that,” Summers said to Vice Motherboard in a phone call. “It sounds silly, but I got a bit excited by it.”

But when Summers contacted his significant other, she said it was not her, even after he told her their safe word. That’s when he realized he got hacked. His penis was locked inside the penis prison cage, and he had no way to get out of it.

“Oh, shit, it’s real,” Summers exclaimed. “I started looking at the thing. There’s no manual override at all. It’s a chastity belt, I guess it kind of shouldn’t have an override. But when it’s a digital thing like that, it should have a key or something. But it obviously didn’t.”

“I don’t have a scar or anything but I was bleeding and it fucking hurt. I started freaking out a bit,” he mentioned. “I was just panicking at this point.”

Summers is one among a number of individuals who bought a chastity cage machine known as Cellmate and produced by Qiui, a manufacturer based in China. Some of the device’s owners obtained their accounts and their devices too. Summers was hacked at the end of 2020 after security researchers warned that the device producer left an exposed and vulnerable API, which may enable hackers to take control of the units in more ways than one, there, we said it.

Scared and a bit desperate, Summers realized he had some Bitcoin stashed in an old wallet. So he sent the hacker what they demanded, hoping that will be it. But when the hacker received the Bitcoin cryptocurrency, they demanded more, Summers told Vice.

“That’s when I felt fucking stupid and angry,” Summers mentioned.

At that point, Summers and his lady began brainstorming ways to get his penis out of the cage. At their house, they only had a hammer, so then they went out and purchased a pair of bolt cutters. His companion tried first, but she was unable to break it open. So Summers needed to do it himself. The approach he was holding his penis “in a dangerous spot,” he told Vice, so it was “very scary.

Nonetheless, he was able to bust open the cage, however, the cutters still cut him, he said.

“I don’t have a scar or anything but I was bleeding and it fucking hurt,” Summers mentioned.

Because of the cut, Summers and his partner weren’t capable of having intercourse for more than a month, Vice reported. Additionally, the incident made Summers rethink using internet-connected devices, particularly those that go around his most personal parts.

“If you’re into it, that’s fine, because you’re into what you’re into,” he cautioned to Vice. “But use a lock, a physical lock in case. These digital things, you cannot trust them.”

After he obtained freedom from the Cellmate, he threw it away and deleted the app. The entire experience didn’t leave him a bodily scar but undoubtedly traumatized him. While this was clearly not the same as a physical assault or harassment, it was like that in a way.

“A stranger coming into that world that’s supposed to be just you and you and your partner, or you and someone else,” Sam Summers told Vice. “And they are there without your consent. They’re doing that to you, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
