11-year-old girl becomes Britain’s youngest mother after getting pregnant at only 10
(The AEGIS Alliance) – An age 11 girl has now ended up being Britain’s youngest mom following the girl giving birth earlier in June this month having become pregnant at only ten years of age.
The mom, and her child who had been birthed after greater than 30 full weeks into the girl’s pregnancy, are healthy and being looked after. The girl’s identity has not been revealed due to her age, therefore, the baby’s father hasn’t been named either. There would be cause for alarm and concern if it’s found that the father is of adult age.
Her family members weren’t aware that she had been pregnant, The Sun reported. Council chiefs and social services are currently looking into the matter.
“It has come as a big shock,” a person close to the family said. “She’s now being surrounded by expert help. The main thing is that she and the baby are OK.”
“This is the youngest mother I’ve heard of,” Carol Cooper, a doctor, stated, describing that the typical age a girl starts puberty is at 11, but it could be at any moment from age 8 to 14.
Cooper included that body weight has an impact on several bodily hormones which as kids are heavier than they used to be and the age of puberty is currently occurring earlier.
Prior to the age 11 girl giving birth, Britain’s youngest mom had been Tressa Middleton, who had only been 12-years-old in 2006 when she conceived a baby.
Middleton is currently in her mid-20s and became pregnant after her brother raped her. Her kid was brought into social care, and her brother was put behind bars.
Doctor Cooper pointed out that “around one in every 2,500 childbirths” happen to somebody that either didn’t recognize she was pregnant or has concealed it from their friends and family.
In 2014, a child was birthed to an age 12 girl and the father was 13, the lowest combined age of British parents.
In 2017 there were reports that an additional 11-year-old girl had given birth, yet no additional information was released.
