He was Once Louisiana’s State Trooper of the Year, Now Charged with Producing Child Porn

(The AEGIS Alliance) – LOUISIANA – A police officer who once had the honor of being Louisiana’s State Trooper of the year has been busted by his own fellow employees and is charged with producing child porn.

41-year-old Louisiana State Trooper Jason Boyet was caught by law enforcement’s Special Victims Unit that was investigating a tip involving a person who was “producing and distributing pornographic images of children on a web-based application,” according to a press release by the department on Wednesday.

The department, that revealed the FBI assisted them in the investigation, said: “Through investigative means, Agents identified Boyet as the online user and placed him into custody following an interview.”

Jason Boyet wound up locked inside a jail cell close to two years after he was awarded State Trooper of the Year, according to the press release.

Boyet was a veteran in law enforcement for 20-years, a married man and the father of three children, according to WWLTV.

Officers gave no further details and wouldn’t clarify the allegations against Boyet, but insisted that ” the investigation remains ongoing with the potential for additional charges.”

Court records reveal that Boyet was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and WWLTV reported that he was later transported to another facility in protective custody.

Jason Boyet was given administrative leave, which unfortunately is paid time off like a vacation, but he is in jail. Boyet was stripped of his police gear and all law enforcement property.
