With the latest announcement from Apple comes the revelation that the iPhone 7 will not be stocked with headset jacks. Instead, Apple is utilizing a strictly wireless headset to be included with your iPhone 7 purchase. These new headsets, in which have been dubbed “AirPods,” boast water-resistance and the first steps towards a wireless future, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook claims.
However, experts are also claiming that these AirPods  release dangerous cancer-causing radiations directly into the brain of the respective user.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Naturally, almost like everything else Apple uses for connectivity, these AirPods will connect directly to your phone via Bluetooth. However, the connection of the Bluetooth to the headset only goes to the right side. From there the right headset will be sending another Bluetooth connection straight to the left headset. It is from this, the radiation transmits directly through your brain.
As reported by Apple, any and all Bluetooth devices do provide some level of RFR (Radiofrequency Radiation). However, they claim this RFR remains within the guidelines set forth by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Yet, Joel Moskowitz from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, with over 200 scientists, have been studying the different types of effects of the electromagnetic fields upon the human body, and has reportedly criticized those guidelines provided by the FCC as being far too lenient.
“We are playing with fire here’ during a conversation with a reporter ‘You are putting a microwave-emitting device next to your brain,” Moskowitz says.

Alongside Moskowitz, several other scientists are stating that Apple’s new wireless setup for the iPhone 7, can provide several health implications for those intending on using this setup on a large scale, saying it can be extremely “daunting.”
In the past, our scientists have claimed that RFR simply does not carry enough energy in order to provide any cellular, or even DNA, damage. However, this is also sharply contrasted when comparing those RFR signals against more high-energy devices, such as those from X-Ray machines.
“This has been observed over several decades,” as stated by Moskowitz “It’s like we keep rediscovering that Bluetooth is harmful and trying to forget it because we don’t know how to handle it from a policy standpoint.”

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

RFR has been demonstrated to show the degrading of the blood-brain barrier. This degradation allows more harmful toxins to easily pass through the brain; naturally posing a large concern when attempting to place RFR transmitting devices close to your brain.
“Although we don’t know the long-term risks from using Bluetooth devices, why would anyone insert a microwave-emitting devices in their ears near their brain when there are safer ways to use a cell phone?” Moskowitz says. He continues, saying “essentially I recommend using corded headsets or hands-free use of cell phones, not wireless ear buds.”
However, looking deeper into this issue, the cellphone already utilizes a type of RFR signal; several smart meters also operate on RFR signals, as does your typical Wi-Fi Internet connections. In which then we pose the question: does it really matter if we have a direct brain-to-RFR connection? Walking down the street of a major city, say New York City, one could potentially get RFR radiation damage from all of the surrounding technology being emitted.
A 2015 research study, published study in the Electromagnetic Biology & Medicine journal says there are other devices that allow the RFR to provide serious health issues, including cancer. The researchers involved, found a variety of previous studies demonstrating RFRs emitting a type of oxidative stress. This, in turn, allows the body’s antioxidant defenses to become overwhelmed, and essentially allowing the free radicals to run about.
These free radicals are small molecules that can damage cells and DNA structure. These are also considered to play a major cause in different types of cancer, heart disease, and a variety of other health issues.
With all these studies and concerns pertaining to the health issues – applying to cell phone radiation, Bluetooth devices, and now the new Apple AirPods – iPhone 7 buyers may also be concerned with these 2010 findings.
Another industry-funded “interphone” study also proved to show a dramatic increase in the risk of several acoustic nerve tumors, brain tumors, and even parotid gland tumors among those individuals using cell phone technology for 10 years, or longer. There are even higher risks of those individuals who utilized cell phone technology before the age of 20.
Near the beginning of 2016, several scientists and doctors from across the United States had gathered at a pediatric conference in Baltimore. This conference was held, declaring that cell phone use is linked to brain cancer.
Dr Devras Davis, the president of the Environmental Health Trust, stated “The weight of evidence is clear: cell phones do cause brain cancer.”

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed listing a species of bee Native to North America, as an endangered species. The rusty patched bumble bee, a pollinator native to the upper Midwest and Northeastern United States, is the first species of bee in the continental United States to be formally proposed for listing under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
[The] Endangered Species Act safeguards are now the only way the bumble bee would have a fighting chance for survival,” Sarina Jepsen, of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, told Reuters.
The rusty patched bumble bee, named for the red blotch on their abdomen, is one of 47 varieties of native bumble bees in the United States and Canada. The rusty bumble bee used to roam at least 26 states in the Midwest and Northeast; however, in recent years, sightings of the bees have been limited to a small fraction of these states. In fact, since the late 1990s, rusty bumble bee populations haveplummeted by as much as 90 percent, according to the Fish and Wildlife Service.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Bumble bees, as distinguished from domesticated honey bees, are responsible for pollinating about a third of crops in the U.S., making them vital to agricultural sustainability. It is estimated that bumble bees’ annual economic value to farms stands at around $3.5 billion.
As pollinators, rusty patched bumblebees contribute to our food security and the healthy functioning of our ecosystems,” the Fish and Wildlife Service said in a statement.
Disease, pesticides, climate change, and habitat loss have been named as the factors driving bee populations into decline and, in some cases, to extinction. According to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, more than a quarter of the 47 varieties of native bumble bees in the United States and Canada face a risk of extinction.
According to Reuters, Jepsen believes the protections proposed for the rusty bumble bee will intensify the debate over the degree to which so-called neonicotinoid pesticides have contributed to the decline of native bees.
Neonicotinoid insecticides, one of the most widely used insecticides in the world, have been proven to have a number of devastating effects on honey and wild bee populations. Evidence from recent studies have suggested that when exposed to the pesticide, bees can become susceptible to viral infections and mites.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Another study, published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, found that male bees exposed to thiamethoxam and clothianidin, two chemicals from the neonicotinoid family of insecticides, exhibited a 40 percent decrease in living sperm. The same study also found that neonicotinoids also significantly reduce the lifespan of male bees; reduce the number of bumblebee queens produced; and severely cut the survival and reproduction of honeybee queens.
Earlier this year, the first long-term study of neonic impacts on wild bee populations revealed a strong link between the large-scale, long-term decline in wild bees across England and the use of neonicotinoid insecticides. The study, published in the journal Nature Communications, concluded that bees exposed to neonicotinoid treated oilseed rape were three times more likely to experience population declines than bees foraging from other crops or wild plants.
Our results provide the first evidence that sub-lethal impacts of neonicotinoid exposure can be linked to large-scale population extinctions of wild bee species, with these effects being strongest for species that are known to forage on oilseed rape crops,” the researchers concluded.
The public comment period initiated by the proposed listing runs through Nov. 21, 2016. During this period, members of the public, scientists and government agencies are welcome to submit expert opinions and other input that could aid the agency in its decision.

In August 2016, many Native American tribes from Wyoming, Colorado, and even as far as Oklahoma, joined the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota to protest against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). In fact, the protest was massive, bringing the United States to a standstill.
Despite the intimidation’s and harassment’s of protesters by the police, the natives managed to put a temporal hold on the construction. Chief of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, David Archambault II has since taken the matter further by petitioning the United Nations to intervene, and permanently halt the construction of the oil pipeline. Chief Archambault II officially invited United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Victoria Tauli-Corpuz, to visit the area and see the damage caused by the construction.

Chief Archambault II told the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva on September 20, 2016: “I am here because oil companies are causing the deliberate destruction of our sacred places and burials. Dakota Access wants to build an oil pipeline under the river that is the source of our nation’s drinking water. This pipeline threatens our communities, the river and the earth. Our nation is working to protect our waters and our sacred places for the benefit of our children not yet born.”

However, as Chief Archambault II and his people are in Geneva fighting for the right to their land, back in Washington, D.C., some officials are sitting in their comfort zones, busy with their planning on how to take more land from other natives.
According to the Free Thought Project, three years ago, Utah Congressmen Rob Bishop and Jason Chaffetz came up with a proposal called the Utah Public Lands Initiative (PLI). It is said the PLI aimed at turning more than a quarter of the Ute Tribe’s land into oil and drilling zones. The Ute people are Native Americans of the Ute tribe and culture. They live primarily in Utah and Colorado.

native-american-4

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Three years since the PLI was proposed, it is now reported that the proposal has metamorphosed into a bill known as HR5780. In fact, in some few weeks, HR5780 will be pushed through in the United States House of Representatives, meaning natives will lose their lands to the federal government. It is said this government grab of Native American land is the first of its kind in over 100 years.

According to the authors of the PLI, it is to build consensus among stakeholders in eastern Utah, designating lands for conservation and development. The authors wrote: “The Public Lands Initiative is a locally-driven effort to bring resolution to some of the most challenging land disputes in the state of Utah. The initiative is rooted in the belief that conservation and economic development can coexist and make Utah a better place to live, work, and visit.”

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

When the PLI was announced, the Ute tribe formed a committee to discuss how best they can protect their land from the greedy government and federal officials. Given the recent destruction of sacred Native land at the Standing Rock Tribe during the construction of the DAPL, the Ute tribe has said they will not agree to the bill that will soon be passed into law, taking their land from them.

“The actions of Bishop and Chaffetz would seek to divest the Ute Indian Tribe of their ancestral homelands,” the committee wrote in an op-ed for the Salt Lake Tribune. The committee said that this proposal runs the risk of returning to “failed policies of tribal land dispossession that have had a devastating and lasting impact upon tribal nations for the past century.”

The Ute tribe said further that the bill would directly impact on 100,000 acres of Ute reservation lands, which is home to more than half of the tribe’s population. This land has been inhabited by natives for more than 11,000 years, as the rock paintings and petroglyphs demonstrate.

Furthermore, the area in question is also well-known for its rich mining deposits, including uranium and potash with deposits of tar sands present, as well. For years now, oil and gas companies have been eyeballing the region for drilling. The corporations are hiding behind the two Congressmen in order to grab the rich land from the legitimate owners, at all costs.
This development in Utah has prompted comments from some concerned observers and activists. The social critic, Matt Agorist of the Free Thought Project said it is important to note that voluntary innovation and exchange of goods and services and legal land acquisition are not the problems in this scenario.  However, the problem here is that oil and gas companies are able to use the power of the government to grant themselves special privileges and land rights in order to grab large swaths of land, according to Agorist.

I have the power! Imagine never having to buy new batteries. With Americans tossing out more than 3 billion or 180,000 tons of batteries a year, it’s a win-win situation for the consumer and the environment. Well, a team of researchers from the University of California Irvine (UCI) have discovered the secret of battery longevity –  by complete accident!

Nanowires are really thin wires- they’re thousands of times thinner than a human hair. The smaller an object is, the greater its surface area to volume ratio (imagine an orange, if you slice it in half, its surface area has gone from just the skin to the skin and its fleshy exposed interior). Thus, nanowires can be bundled together to provide a really large surface area for electron transfer and storage in a petite package. The problem with this cutting-edge tech is that it “only” lasts 5,000 recharge cycles – a typical Lithium ion battery in your electronic device lasts about 500 cycles FYI.
University doctoral candidate Mya Le Thai coated gold nanowires with a manganese dioxide shell and the entire package with a “plexiglas-like” electrolyte gel. The results were astonishing.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

“Mya was playing around, and she coated this whole thing with a very thin gel layer and started to cycle it,” said chair of UCI’s chemistry department, Reginald Penner. “She discovered that just by using this gel, she could cycle it hundreds of thousands of times without losing any capacity.
Thai cycled it 200,000 times over three months, without losing any power or capacity. The nanowires did not seem to show any signs of the usual wear and tear that come with such abuse.
“The coated electrode holds its shape much better, making it a more reliable option,” Thai says. “This research proves that a nanowire-based battery electrode can have a long lifetime and that we can make these kinds of batteries a reality.”
These new batteries could last longer than us – maybe instead of passing down silly trinkets embedded with carbon crystals, we could look forward to passing down the literal reservoir of our power.

first-of-its-kind-study-finds-virtually-no-driving-impairment-under-the-influence-of-marijuana

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

If you ask officials of the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) about the effects of marijuana on driving performance, they will, with all ignorance and arrogance, tell you that the plant has a negative effect on users who drive whilst under influence.
In fact, the DEA is still wallowing in the Reefer Madness mentality, to the point the agency has deliberately closed its eyes and ears on the growing scientific evidence supporting the benefits of marijuana.
The DEA still held that marijuana should be classed as a Schedule 1 of the Control Substance Act, despite the evident medical efficacy of the plant before our very eyes.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

According to the DEA, marijuana has high abuse potential; no medical use; severe safety concerns; and that there is no available scientific research to prove otherwise.
In this article, we are looking at the so-called severe safety concerns the DEA has associated with marijuana. Police officials in charge of road traffic regulation in the United States, have been made to believe that drivers who use marijuana, drive dangerously. They assume out of ignorance that since marijuana is psychoactive, severely impairing the performance of users while driving under its influence. Many of the country’s marijuana users have suffered from harassments and brutalities from the police, simply because they had taken marijuana while operating a vehicle.
However, there is a new study proving that marijuana has almost no impairment on the performance of users who drive under its influence. The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Iowa’s National Advanced Driving Simulator. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, National Institute of Drug Abuse, and the Office of National Drug Control Policy sponsored the study.

The study sought to analyze the effects of marijuana on driving performance. It found that it caused almost no impairment. The researchers found that the impairment that marijuana did cause, was similar to that observed under the influence of a legal alcohol limit.
Detailing how the study was conducted, the researchers said they selected 18 participants, made up of 13 men and 5 women between the ages of 21 and 37. The participants reported drinking alcohol and using marijuana no more than three times a week. After spending a night at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics to ensure sobriety, the participants arrived at Iowa’s National Advanced Driving Simulator for six dosing visits.
The participants were first given 10 minutes to drink a mixed drink with alcohol or plain juice in an alcohol-rimmed glass and topped with alcohol, to mimic alcohol taste and odor. The researchers revealed how the idea behind this was to get the participants’ blood alcohol level to about .065%, at the start of the simulated drive.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

After they finished drinking, they were given 10 minutes to inhale a placebo or vaporized marijuana using a German designed vaporizing system, Volcano Medic.
After completing this process, the participants were put in the simulator – a 1996 Malibu sedan mounted in a 24-feet diameter dome. The participants (drivers) were then assessed by the researchers on weaving within the lane, how often the car left the lane, and the speed of the weaving.
The researchers found that drivers with only alcohol in their systems showed impairment in all three areas. However, those drivers who were strictly under the influence of vaporized marijuana only demonstrated problems weaving within the lane.
Drivers with blood concentrations of 13.1 ug/L THC, or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana, showed increased weaving that was similar to those with a .08 breath alcohol concentration – the legal limit in most states. The legal limit for THC in Washington and Colorado is 5 ug/L, the same amount that other states have considered.

influence-of-marijuana-signs-while-driving

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

The study also found that analyzing a driver’s oral fluids can detect recent use of marijuana, but is not a reliable measure of impairment.

A postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Iowa’s College of Pharmacy, Andrew Spurgin admitted: “Everyone wants a Breathalyzer which works for alcohol because alcohol is metabolized in the lungs. But for cannabis this isn’t as simple due to THC’s metabolic and chemical properties.”

Observers say the findings of the study have shed light on the fact that alcohol is a much more dangerous drug than marijuana, but sadly, alcohol is legal, while marijuana remains a Schedule 1 illicit drug.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Rewind a few years ago, around this time, and Oliver Stone’s establishment haggling was just getting fired up again. His television series, The Untold History of the United States, coupled with the release of his (rather large) book in the same year, forced an audience to contemplate the “true history” of the United States’ international role.
The 10-part series was another step towards challenging the mainstream narrative, the history books and the teachings we have all grown up with. It documents, particularly, the United States’ “nefarious involvement” in destabilizing the Middle East. Now, with his new film set to be released later this year, Stone may set a benchmark, even for himself.
Snowden, Stone’s latest project, was well received this year at the Toronto Film Festival, or TIFF as the T.O. locals and film buffs like to refer to it. Critics have suggested the documenting of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden’s life and the lead up to his decisions, may earn Stone some Emmy awards, to say the least. It seems, according to those who follow his career, Stone has yet again, provided a provocative account of the U.S. government’s agenda and one man’s journey to do what he feels is the right thing by the citizen.

Separation-Line-Up-to-date-3-13-2016-tk-3-black-fill

Stone is no stranger to rattling the U.S. government’s cage, and he makes no apology for it. From his earlier days as a filmmaker, Stone has always questioned the U.S. role in the world, right down to the final detail. Maybe it was because of his own struggle with serving in Vietnam and coming home as a decorated soldier. And rightly so, the ex-serviceman in Stone still questions the politics of the situation – as he does now for current wars and climates – hunting for the ultimate answer to justify a war.
On speaking with TIME some years ago, Stone was asked about what he thought of the then current President Bush drawing parallels between the Vietnam withdrawal and why it was the reason to stay in Iraq and continue the U.S. presence. At the time, Stone responded “Now that’s despicable. The man went to Yale, but he never went to class. Obviously he didn’t learn history…” referring to the encompassing ignorance of a leader who placed foreign policy ahead of lives while ignoring the facts.
As Stone suggested in past movies, books and personal accounts, he suggests once again with his new film, that perhaps ISIS and other ‘so-called’ events around the world aren’t the real threat to the world. Rather, it’s the role of America.

In 2015, when Martin Shkreli (CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals) hiked the price of Daraprim (a drug used in the treatment of HIV) from $13.50 per pill to $750 (5,000% more expensive than its original cost), Mark L. Baum (CEO of San Diego-based Imprimis Pharmaceuticals) developed a $1 alternative to the life saving drug (and still made profits).
In 2007, when Mylan Pharmaceuticals acquired EpiPen (an epinephrine auto-injector used in the treatment of life threatening allergies and bee-sting emergencies) and hiked the price from a little over $100 to $600 in 2016 (a 500% increase for a one-year, two-pack supply), Jeremy Counts (owner of Main Street Pharmacy in Blacksburg, Virginia) promptly challenged the greedy generic drug manufacturer with a $20 alternative.

“I buy the epinephrine in bulk and I get a good price and then I take the syringes and I pre-load them with 2 doses for people, and after I pre-load them, they’re ready to go. There is absolutely zero difference as far as the actual medication being delivered. The only difference is they’ve got a fancy pen with a spring in it.”

The only major difference between Count’s pens and Mylan’s EpiPens is that his alternative lasts about three months in storage while EpiPen lasts a year or 18 months maximum.

Enter Mark L. Baum.
Disgusted at Mylan’s decision to gouge the patients (considering the main ingredient, epinephrine, costs only a few dollars without the auto-injector), Baum is developing a customizable and compoundable alternative to EpiPen for less than $100.
Meanwhile, Dr Douglas McMahon from the Allergy and Asthma Center of Eagan, Minnesota, has created a cheaper and more compact epinephrine-delivering device — dubbed the AllergyStop — which he intends to sell for about a tenth of the price of EpiPen. Dr Douglas has already started crowd funding a $50 version of the EpiPen on IndieGogo with a $200,000 goal to complete quality testing and gain FDA approval. He told CBS Minnesota:

“I’ve been working on this for many years. I actually have severe food allergies myself, so I’ve needed to carry an Epinephrine device for many years. Throughout that process I’ve realized the current device [EpiPen] is really big and cumbersome, to the point where I hardly ever carried it. By chance I came to realize how inexpensive the parts were, including the medicine, and I realized we can sell it to patients for a very reasonable cost.”

San Diego-based Adamis Pharmaceuticals is also working on a pre-filled syringe system for injecting epinephrine, an alternative that will cost at least 40% less than the current market price for a one-year, two-pack supply of EpiPen. The product is currently under review by the FDA, and the company expects to start selling it in 2017.
Massachusetts-based Windgap Medical is also trying to get FDA approval for Abiliject, an EpiPen alternative that will have a shelf life of several years, making it more cost-effective than EpiPen. Abiliject, a device that won’t degrade when exposed to light or extreme temperatures, is about the size of a Bic lighter — less than half the girth of an EpiPen — so Windgap’s co-founder and CEO Christopher Stepanian believes users will be more likely to carry it with them at all times.
Two other EpiPen alternatives — the credit card-shaped Adrenacard, which can be stocked in one’s wallet, and a generic auto-injecting system from Teva Pharmaceuticals — are also in the works and could be available to consumers as soon as 2017.
But how did Mylan Pharmaceuticals get away with a 500% price increase in the very first place? Because it has a monopoly, writes Forbes, one that is maintained by the federal government’s own regulatory scheme which allowed, in fact encouraged, a billion-dollar market to be cornered by one supplier.
