In a defiant act, Dugan, allegedly boasting legal expertise, refused to comply. Once informed of the Lamborghini’s stolen status, he sped away, initiating a high-speed chase.

Surveillance video depicts Dugan reaching speeds exceeding 113 mph as he attempted to outrun the police on city streets. The pursuit, however, was tragically brief. The LAPD reported that Dugan lost control and collided with the center median with such immense force that the Lamborghini cleaved in two, ejecting his body a considerable distance.

Arriving at the scene, officers found the mangled remains of the Lamborghini engulfed in flames, with twisted metal debris scattered across the roadway. The impact also caused moderate to severe damage to several parked vehicles along Sherman Way, with car parts lodged in windows and roofs. Trees lining the median were similarly uprooted by the sheer violence of the crash.
